Midnight Sea Society now on Facebook

My friend, Avatar Michael Nelson, is working on a community focused on the ideas behind lucid dreaming and self improvement. He’s calling it the Midnight Sea Society and they’ve already published one book, The Tower and the Sea.

Being that it’s generally my job to be social for all my friends, I’ve set up a Facebook page dedicated to his operation and the book.

You see, I believe a few things. Maybe you believe in something similar. If so, I invite you to explore our teachings, especially the lucid dreaming guide.

I believe that we are all connected. In some small way, what happens to one of us, happens to all. We share the same loves, the same joys, the same pains. We have the same needs, desires, and fears. When we are at our best, we move together. When we are at our worst, we move together. We are connected.

My All Hallow’s Read Offering: The Legend of Sleepy Phoenix

My favorite folklorist and author, Neil Gaiman, has created the first annual All Hallow’s Read. And this Hallowse’en when I hit the bricks of Mill Ave, I will be carrying physical books with me—but, for those of you so far away from me, you can still get in on my tweet campaign for the The Legend of Sleepy Phoenix e-book.

Mill Avenue Vexations Have a Merry Vexing Christmas everyone.

This little title was released almost two years ago now, for Christmas. It is one of the very first tribute stories that we ever wrote.

If you haven’t read it before you might as well catch up.

I even have a black Santa cap like Vex is wearing on the cover now. For those who haven't had the fortune of reading this yet (get to it!) it summarizes a little bit like a cabdriver Dicken’s story, as Vex tries to unravel the lives of various fares. Three exactly. Each of whom have a little bit of trouble in their past, present, or future.

A personal book signing for a fan

Just received a copy of Specter in the Spectacles via post to sign for a fan!

That's right, kids, this is my very first book ever and I have a fan, mailing me a book, so that I can sign it.

Now—I just have to figure out what exactly to say. It's for his daughter whom he wants to get to read, so I should probably be sane...

Who ever thought that I’d get to the point where people actually wanted me to sign stuff?

BIOS by Robert Charles Wilson

BIOS is an amazing little novel published in 2000. I am amazed that I've never run across this little gem until today, but I suppose I'm not a rabid enough fan of Science Fiction. It is a deceptively small book in the mass market edition but it is thick with intrigue and interest.

The main character, Zoe Fisher, is basically born into a power struggle happening through the political sphere of her paternal community -- but she has bigger things going on than just that. Thrust into the political and real wilderness of a new planet, Isis, to test out some new technology. She finds herself embroiled in some very strange, and very personal, events that eventually tease out a very romantic, and endearing set of characters.
